How to Apply

The application procedures for Undergraduates and Postgraduates are very different. Guidance is given below.

After you have applied, you will be invited to an open day. Invitations and further information are sent directly to applicants. You will usually be given a choice of dates, which are normally between late November and March. These events give you the chance to meet members of staff who may be teaching you, talk to current students who may be studying on the course to which you have applied and have a look around the University campus and the city, if you haven't been able to visit before. If you have any queries about these open days, you should contact the relevant person direct.

Undergraduate Degrees

Applications for entry to our undergraduate degrees should be made to the University through the UCAS system. Further information about the application procedure is available on the Newcastle University website. Mature students should follow the same application procedure. Some supplementary information for mature students is available on the Newcastle University website.

Taught Postgraduate Degrees

Applications for the taught postgraduate degrees should be made on the standard Postgraduate Application Form. Details of the applications process are available on the Newcastle University website.

Please apply early. Applications for the MSc in System Design for Internet Applications (for the academic year 2006-2007) will be considered in two batches, first in February 2006 and then in April 2006.

PhD and MPhil

Applications for postgraduate degrees by research (PhD and MPhil) should also be made on the standard Postgraduate Application Form. Details of the applications process are available on the Newcastle University website.
