Student Activities

These pages give details about the various activities that both Undergraduates and Postgraduates following taught courses can participate in during their time at Newcastle.

Various parts of our degree programmes attract prizes awarded by major companies including Accenture, British Airways, Hewlett Packard and Logica.

Many of our students have taken the opportunity to study abroad under the Socrates-Erasmus programme. We also receive students from other European countries who choose to come and spend some time at Newcastle.

The Board of Studies and the Staff-Student Committee work together. They are your opportunity to contribute to discussions and influence decisions about courses and other aspects of life in the School.

There are now several professional societies in the general area of computing and related fields. The most widely known, and the one described here, is the British Computer Society (BCS).
