Michael WaidnerMichael Waidner is Head of the Network Security and Cryptography research group at IBM Zurich. He was awarded the Diploma and Doctorate in Computer Science (Univ. Karlsruhe 1986 and 1991, respectively). From 1986 - 1994 he was a researcher at the Univ. of Karlsruhe (Inst. for Computer Design and Fault Tolerance) and lecturer at the Univ. of Karlsruhe and Darmstadt. From 1993 - 1994 he was a researcher in the EU ESPRIT Project CAFE (involved in the development of a privacy-protecting, smartcard-based payment system). Since 1994 he has worked with IBM Research, since 1996 as research manager. He was one of the main designers of iKP, IBMs contribution to the SET secure payments protocol standard. He is (co)author of 56 published research articles in cryptography, network security, and dependability and a member of several scientific programme committees. |
