Yves DeswarteYves Deswarte received the Certified Engineer degree from ISEN, Lille, in 1972 and the Computer Science Specialisation Engineer degree from ENSAE, Toulouse, in 1973. Formerly a R&D engineer in industry, he joined INRIA and LAAS-CNRS in 1979. He is currently "Directeur de Recherche" and member of the research group on Fault Tolerance and Dependable Computing. He has been a major contributor to the design of many fault tolerant computing systems. His research in security is devoted to application of fault tolerance to secure distributed systems, protection of distributed systems and security evaluation. He is the author of more than 50 publications in the domains of fault-tolerance and security. He is chairman of the SEE TC on Dependable Computing Systems and chaired the Steering Committee of the European Symposium on Research in Computer Security, from its creation until 1998. He is a member of ACM, the IEEE Computer Society and the CEPIS Special Interest Network on Legal and Security Issues. |
