Brief Biography

Chris joined Newcastle in 1984 after working for five years in the Computing Studies Department at Hull University, and before that as a Research Assistant and Demonstrator in the Statistics and Computational Mathematics Department at Liverpool University, where he also gained his BSc, MSc and PhD. Chris' background is as a numerical analyst and this research interest has developed into the area of parallel numerical algorithms. Chris acts as Director of Teaching for the School and is Degree Programme Director for undergraduate programmes in Computing Science, Computing Science (Software Engineering), and Information Systems.
