Brief Biography

Claire joined CSR in March 2000, as CSR General Secretary. Prior to joining the Centre she was employed as a Financial Administrator for a Northumberland based training agency.

Claire is Senior Secretary, within the CSR general office and also P.A. to Prof. Cliff Jones, Director of the DIRC project and Research Director for Computing Science.

Her duties relate to the input and maintenance of the CSR website (and creation of web sites on a per event basis), research projects and papers, the overall organisation and co-ordination of workshops and seminars (of varying sizes), venue visits and selection, arranging travel, accommodation and meetings and maintaining/scheduling diaries, alongwith the supervision of Sarah and co-ordinating the day to day efficiency of the general office. She also has responsibility for financial administration of the CSR, Club and research accounts.

Claire provides administration support for Joan Atkinson, who works as the Safety Club Administrator, in maintaining the SCSC and SRMC; this involves attendance at the 3 day, Safety-critical Systems Symposium and any other event with a large attendance. Claire also assists with the preparation of publicity material, mailings to a database of approx. 2,500 people, joining information for events, collation of information packs, liaising with delegates.
