Brief Biography
Xiaofeng Gong formally joined the School of Computing Science at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in May 2005.
Xiaofeng worked as a software engineer in the Electric Power Company of Dalian Port in China for 6 years after completing her undergraduate studies in Computer Application and Automatic Control from Dalian Maritime University in China.
In 1997, Xiaofeng moved to Scotland and was employed as a research assistant on the PATRICIA project within the School of Computing & Mathematical Sciences at Glasgow Caledonian University, where she also did doctoral research in Role Based Security Policy Management and also contributed to the EPSRC RAED project.
Xiaofengs major research interests are Security Policy Specification, Trust Management, Distributed Systems, Grid Computing, and Middleware technologies.
Xiaofeng is currently employed as a research associate working on the GOLD project within the school looking into the issues of GRID security. She is a member of the Centre for Software Reliability.
