Brief Biography

I am the Chief Software Architect of the North-East Regional e-Science Centre (NEReSC) at the School of Computing Science, University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

I graduated in 1995 with a BSc in Information Technology from the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki, Greece, In 1996 I successfully completed the advanced MSc in Computer Software and Systems Design at the School of Computing Science, University of Newcastle upon Tyne from where I received, in 2000, my PhD in Computing Science.

I worked as post-doctoral research associate for the HiPPO research project and as a Senior Software Engineer at the HP Arjuna Labs.

My interests in Computing Science are scattered amongst many fields; some of my most favourite being Parallelism, Distributed Systems, Grid Computing, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, and Computer Graphics.
